For the most demanding end users there is a backpack battery that boasts a twelve hour run time. Run time and expectations are always important. Whether you are running the base model battery blower from Stihl or the commercial bike handle Husqvarna brushcutter, getting the right battery is key for your success. This also helps us know what charger you need. Since many chargers can fully charge a battery faster than they can be depleted, this is key in a purchase.
Are you worried about upfront cost or maintenance and fuel cost?
The upfront cost of battery products is more and more affordable every year. However, it still can surpass that of their petro counterparts. That is if you’re not considering the fuel cost for the life of the machine and the maintenance cost for the machine. Batteries themselves can be very pricey. We always recommend staying with the same brand product that you already have so you can utilize the battery in many different machines. As we discussed, fuel today can deteriorate fuel delivery systems as soon as three weeks. In battery products your biggest hassle is making sure the battery is charged. From there on out, everything about the battery product is easier. Plug the battery in, hit the power button, and get to work. There is no pulling a starter until your shoulder feels like it is going to fall off.
